This series of talks with successful and interesting people (musicians, producers, composers, manufacturers, sound designers, promoters, music marketers) has the motto “Learning about and learning from”. Today Rolf´s guest is Omri Cohen
He is a musician, he is a teacher of modular synthesis, he is a YouTuber. Omri Cohen fell in love with the modular environment through his work with VCV rack. By the way: Is there anybody in the universe, who knows more about VCV rack than Omri? Soon enough his studio was filled with patch cables, modules and other synthesizers. Omri loves this specific workflow, the sounds, these happy accidents, and the inspiration he gets from the instrument itself. He calls his music “ambient cinematic sonic explorations” - and I can´t think of a better description. Omri drives two YouTube channels, one of which is dedicated to teaching patching techniques and sound design techniques – and a good deal of streaming. His second channel is dedicated to his music.
